My mother, Isabel Khoo Poh Kiew, began her cancer journey in 2003. Over the next 20 years, the cancer recurred multiple times, and major surgeries became an almost annual affair for Mum. The final recurrence was last Christmas. Mum was tired of surgeries and hospitals by then and expressed her wish for palliative care.
The bad news hit me like a tonne of bricks but God repeatedly reminded me of His promise in Gen 50:20 that what was intended to harm me, God intended it for good, the saving of many lives.
